Madagascar on fire

Our tour groups have been busy travelling in Madagascar over the last few weeks and we would like to take this opportunity to pass on some feedback. On many of our tours we have guests for whom this is their first trip in warm saltwater and Madagascar is a perfect destination for beginners due to the expected abundance of species. Madagascar was also the first warm water destination for our traveller Manuela, after she had already gained some experience, for example in Norway.

This is what a fishing holiday in Madagascar can look like.

Manu wrote to us after the tour:

What an extraordinary and moving fishing trip to Madagascar… Everything here simply flashed us… Never before have we been able to experience such a well-organised trip with so many unforgettable moments. From the transfer to the hotel through the streets of Nosy Be, where we were able to get our first impressions of the country, to the journey to Radama Island Resort, which we spent fishing in the Indian Ocean, it was a very impressive tour. We spent a few unforgettable days fishing with a really great group of people who developed some good friendships during our stay. A wide variety of fish species and sizes were caught and everyone had a story or two to tell at the end of the day… Preferably with a cold drink in the refreshing pool with a breathtaking view.

A word about the exceptional service at the resort. This is – if at all – really hard to beat, let alone that of our boat crew, with Cesar and Fabrice, who left nothing to be desired and ultimately brought us to our dream fish. Not to forget the indescribably great camp itself… Even though we were actually here to go fishing, we were happy to get up an hour earlier to discover and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the various natural spectacles. If you’re lucky – and we certainly were – you can witness the hatching of the turtles… an unforgettable and overwhelming moment… Our expectations were more than exceeded! A trip that has definitely enriched our lives and not for the last time. Many thanks for this!

P.S. A little tip… if you visit the island, take a few things with you for the local children… Pencils, colouring blocks, balls, chalk… The gratitude in the children’s eyes will remain an unforgettable experience!

With a bit of luck, you may see the large specimens in front of the camp in the morning as you drive out, or you may be greeted by the turtles in the evening after your fishing trip, as is the case here. A snorkelling session in front of the camp is also worthwhile. Fins, goggles and snorkels are available on site and do not need to be brought along.

The rest of the group had a great time too, of course, and you can see a few impressions in the following gallery.
