In 2024, our Finnish tour guide started the new fishing season in the Maldives with his guests, as is almost a tradition. You can see a short report from Mika and a few nice pictures here. Mika wrote to us via WhatsApp after the tour:
“I don’t know the number of fish or GTs, but it was a good result. We caught about 10 different species of fish in quite windy conditions and with three warm-water beginners in the group.
A 110 cm and a 100 cm Giant Trevally for rookie Marko, a very nice Bluefin Trevally for Jukka, who was later also called (attention insider information) the “shark man”. Rookie Arto was infected with the tropical saltwater virus and was able to land various fish species as well as a good number of fish.
The experience was valuable because the fish were picky. Returning customer Asko and I managed to get the fish to bite and set the hook.
Many lures were lost, the hook was bent twice and the line was cut twice. So there were opportunities and offers, but that’s why we call it fishing and not catching.
Excellent trip with perhaps the best captain and crew in the Maldives. Very nice, good and clean guest house. The food is not too spicy, very tasty and those dinner, an absolute wow-effect.
Everything was 10+ stars on this trip. “
Thanks Mika!
Mika has put his experiences on this tour into a short YouTube video. Have fun watching and thanks again Mika!
