Tour guide Mirco Moll reports:
Once again I was drawn, together with 7 other crazy anglers, to the Tuna Coast of Panama. After a smooth journey via Amsterdam and a first night in the airport hotel, the adventure finally began with the journey to Pedasi.
The welcome was, as always, warm and, above all, familiar and so I immediately felt at home again, despite the change of operator in the meantime.
The first day began with a challenging but exciting fishery and an absolute bonito “battle” …
I’ve actually never experienced feeding frenzies like this in 12 years! 😱
Gone with the wind
Then unfortunately the storm came and the fishing became really exhausting, but remained varied and successful.
Rooster, Jacks, Red Snapper, Mullet Snapper, Needlefish, Giant Hogfish, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel, Albacore, Bonito and certainly one or two other species ended up with a “done” on the bucket list. Only the Cuberas were a little slow …
After three missed opportunities on our boat on the second day and unfortunately no encounters with the red giants for the rest of the week, the last day was to be a bit of a nerve-wracking one.
The last two hours of fishing time, the water begins to rise, we cast our lures directly at “la Grande Rocka”… I popp the lure twice before it disappears straight into the mouth of a good Bluefin Trevally.
Scenes like from a thriller...
After a quick photo, the lures fly back towards the rocks. Shortly before the boat we see two red shadows… Pop, pop, the shadows come closer, look and disappear… At the same moment, two red shadows follow Andre’s Westin Swim, unfortunately they also turn away…
The nerves are on edge…
This spectacle is actually repeated once more, then the spook is over and peace…
Nothing with Cubera …
Rooster at the end
The last few minutes of fishing time, there are still two anglers on the second boat without roosters, Julius and Thomas are a little disappointed.
After all, the rooster was their number one target fish.
But who writes the best stories? Exactly – THE LIFE…
With a top-class double fight, two handsome roosters are in the boat just seconds before the final whistle. The happy anglers? Julius and Thomas 😱🤣
Thats all about fishing!
Fish hard, never give up and become happy…
For me, it’s still “on the hunt for the red devil” and I will probably “have to” make my way to Pedasi a fourth time. 🤣🤣🤣
Life ist good but Cubera is sometimes an a**hole! 🫣
